Of counsel to the firm's Real Estate and Bankruptcy divisions, Ms. Beck is a graduate of Loyola Law School, where she served as a full-time judicial extern to the Honorable Kathleen T. Lax, United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. Her undergraduate degree is from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she was active in the Chancellor's Official Service Organization, serving numerous philanthropic organizations throughout the Los Angeles area. Ms. Beck is an active member of the Los Angeles Bankruptcy Forum, the Orange County Bankruptcy Forum, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
Ms. Beck's legal career included work at the firm of Rus, Miliband, Williams & Smith. Prior to her association with Schlichter & Shonack, LLP, Ms. Beck handled several cases before the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel and District Court Bankruptcy Appeals, administered and re-organized a number of corporate entities, as well as individual clients, including real estate developers, an equestrian training center, and international import/export concerns, under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code. A graduate of the prestigious NITA Advanced Trial Academy, her non-bankruptcy experience and skills include anti-deficiency and real estate litigation, commercial disputes, and corporate transactions. Ms. Beck's primary practice and experience adds an emphasis in bankruptcy, corporate reorganizations, commercial litigation, secured transactions, and all aspects of debtor/creditor relations to the firm's practice.
